What happens in the consultation
-
You talk, I listen
No need to prepare perfect sentences or already know the terminology. Describe how work feels, and I will do the translating.
A lot of people worry because they feel like they don’t even know what would help them. That’s what I’m here to help you figure out.
-
I map your situation to what ATW can fund
Support worker, coaching, equipment, adjustments, travel support. I identify what applies to you and explain what's realistic.
-
You leave with clear next steps
You’ll leave with a specific, concrete action plan you’re able to follow because it was designed around your needs and your situation.
You'll know what to say, who to say it to, and in what order.
-
Afterwards, everything is in writing
A personalised summary email plus access to your call transcript, so nothing gets lost and you don't have to rely on memory.

Why Max?
Max Wayne, ATW Consultant
Max is autistic and has navigated the Access to Work system from the inside. Not just as a professional, but as someone who has lived what their clients are going through.
You won't be rushed, talked over, or made to feel like you should already know this. Max's approach is built around one idea: clarity is kindness. Every session ends with you knowing exactly what to do next.
“Clear answers to hard questions. That’s what I’m here for!”
Common questions
-
Do I need a diagnosis to book?
No. You don't need a formal diagnosis to access ATW or to work with me. If you're struggling at work and you think neurodivergence might be a factor, that's enough.
-
What if I don't even know what would help me?
That's exactly what this consultation is for. "I don't know where to start" is one of the most common things I hear, and it's a completely valid place to begin, especially if you spent your life masking your needs.
-
What if I need more than one session?
You're welcome to book again. I also offer more in-depth support for specific stages of ATW: applications, assessments, support workers, claims, and renewals.
-
I'm self-employed, can you still help me?
Yes. ATW covers self-employed people and I have specialist experience supporting freelancers and sole traders through the process.
New to working with me?
This service is not the right fit if:
-

You've already had your first call with your case manager and things didn't go as well as you hoped
Managing a situation where you've already communicated something to your case manager can be challenging without further complications. Unfortunately, I'm unable to step in to fix issues if we haven't worked on your application together from the start.

Looking for a neurodivergent support worker?
Alongside ATW consultancy, I offer ongoing 1:1 support for neurodivergent adults in work. Imagine having a support worker who genuinely understands your brain and knows the ATW system inside out.
