Your guide to Access to Work
Access to Work is a UK government grant that pays for support at work if you have a disability or health condition, and that includes being neurodivergent. You can receive support such as a support worker, specialist software, or equipment. The process can be confusing, so everything I've written about it lives here in one place, from the basics through to what happens after you apply.
New to Access to Work?
If you've only just heard of Access to Work, or you're not sure whether it applies to you, read this page first, because it covers the basics before you get into the detail.

Got a specific question?
Each of these guides goes into one part of Access to Work, so you can go straight to the bit you're stuck on.
Who's behind these guides?
Hi, I'm Max. I'm autistic, and I've been through Access to Work myself, so these guides come from my own experience as well as from my years of experience supporting other neurodivergent adults with their applications.
Want help with your application?
I offer consultations and done-for-you Access to Work support to guide you through the process, from your first application through to your assessment. I also cover renewals if you already have support that's coming up for review.
Supporting a member of staff with Access to Work?
If you're an employer, I can walk you through how Access to Work works and what it involves on your side (e.g. what you'll be asked during an employee's application, and how it fits with the adjustments you already make). I also run training sessions and webinars for managers and HR teams who want to understand it properly.
Not ready for help yet?
You can get prepared with my free guides first, because the more you know before you apply, the less likely you are to be caught out along the way.
